Inviting Guests to Introducing God E-mail

How do I encourage Christian hosts to invite their friends to Introducing God?

The key to our friends coming to Introducing God is prayer, a godly life and an invitation. But there are a few steps along the way that can help:

  • Step One: Raise awareness: People need to know we are Christian and that being part of the family of God is significant in our lives. First question is: Do your friends who don't have a relationship with God, know that you do?

Here are some training tips:

Pub evangelism catches Nine's eye E-mail

Today Show's Good Friday report.

0503pubevangelism.jpgMore than 15,000 people have done the Introducing God course in lounge rooms, small groups, restaurant settings and one to one since its release 18 months ago.

But Introducing God’s author Dominic Steele says what caught the Today Show’s eye was people thinking and talking about God in the place they least expected – the earthy environment of an inner city pub.

Sydney course wins Middle Eastern converts E-mail

Introducing God winds up in the Middle East.

20050214_middleeast.jpgNews that three people recently came to Christ may not sound earth-shattering.

However this trio live in a major Middle Eastern city, and were converted after attending a course written by a Sydney Anglican minister.

The course called Introducing God was written by the Rev Dominic Steele, rector of Annandale Anglican Church, and founder of Christians in the Media. It takes place over dinner, with a talk and table discussion introducing guests to the God of the Bible and outlining his salvation plan beginning with Genesis through to Revelation.

Over 1,100 churches across the globe – from South East Asia to Ireland - have now signed up to run the course.

But how did Introducing God wind up being run in the Middle East.

"I wanted it to keep going" - Sports reporter E-mail

Ray Hickson, Sports reporter, Daily Telegraph

After a bit of prodding, I went along to the Roxbury Hotel in Glebe a little unsure of what to expect. And a little nervous at the prospect of meeting other media types in the Christian world.

I shouldn’t have been so concerned. Because by the end of dinner on the first night – before the official part of the evening – I was already sold on the concept. What occurred in the hour or so following dinner, the talk and table discussion, was incredibly frank and comfortable and the format allowed for those a little unsure why they were there, like I was at first, to assess the situation.

Exactly what Introducing God is all about became clear quickly: a step-by-step look at the promise of God and the story of Jesus in a completely non-threatening environment with plenty of scope for asking questions. The discussion groups were well led, enjoyable and thought provoking (at least the group I was in).

Introducing Journalists to God E-mail

A new evangelistic course aimed at post-moderns has grown out of a ministry for media workers.

Gameplan with Stuart Robinson

Dominic Steele, the founder of Christians in the Media is a self-confessed radio fanatic. “I still have scrap books at home with photos of the Sydney radio stars of the 1970s,” he quips.

Dominic worked for Sydney radio stations 2UE and 2WS and did everything from covering the Anita Cobby inquest, to editing and reading breakfast news through to reporting the 1988 Olympic Games in South Korea.

During his time at 2UE Dominic was invited by a colleague, Russell Powell, to consider the claims of Christ. “I attended church with Russell and after about six months I became convinced that it was true that Jesus had paid the price for my rebellion against God, and that since he had risen again, he should be my Lord.”
