With their church building now out of action, Annandale Community Church are running five Introducing God courses in members’ lounge rooms after their Start the Ultimate Relationship mission week.

Annandale and Naremburn-Cammeray Anglican Church – both recipients of grants through the April appropriation of $20 million from the Diocesan Endowment – carried out their missions days before major building work began on their church properties.

In fact, Annandale’s rector, the Rev Dominic Steele says the bulldozers moved in on both parish properties on the same day.

Mr Steele – who has spearheaded Start the Ultimate Relationship – reflects that the reality has been different to the expectations when the idea was first discussed at a meeting of 12 Sydney Anglican ministers in August last year.

“We originally began the discussion for some sort of united mission that would work to capitalise on the increase in ‘God talk’ we anticipated would come as a result of World Catholic Youth Day,” he says.

Concord Anglican are marketing ‘Start the Ultimate Relationship’ in a unique way – by using their member’s real estate.

Church members are putting up signs in their front yards advertising ‘Start the Ultimate Relationship’. The signs are similar to those used by Real Estate agents.

Assistant Minister Paul Whitfield hopes people will see the humour in the advertising, “If we mimic the real estate signs more closely hopeful the sign will come across a bit more playfully.” He hopes the advertising will encourage more locals to connect with events and people.

Annandale Community Church have finalised their brochures for 'Start the Ultimate Relationship' week.

The fliers use the simple black and white styling of the main graphic and advertise some of the suggested talk titles such as 'Raise the ultimate family' and 'Be the ultimate lover'.

Annandale Community Church members are ready to help introduce their friends to God in Lounge Rooms.

“Initially I wasn’t too keen to invite my friends.” says Dave. “But after watching the training DVD, I’m all fired up and can see that by doing it in our Home Group, we can all work together to make it work really well. And I’m confident that Introducing God can work, because the whole process is well thought through.”

City Bible Forum and Ecom are joining with churches in the Start the Ultimate Relationship week.

Russ Matthews says, "City Bible Forum will be having Dominic Steele talking through a series of talks titled, ‘Starting the Ultimate Relationship.’"

"Ecom’s ministry is to make the bible accessible to city workers through various ministries in the CBD of Sydney. City Bible Forum is one of our venues to communicate the Word of God to people in the city."

Toongabbie Anglican church are marketing Start the ultimate relationship with a big banner and small invitation cards.

"One of the aids to marketing will be to produce business cards." says Raj Gupta.  "On one side would basically be the ‘Start the Ultimate Relationship’ logo, and the other side will list our church meetings for the day, with more specific talk titles. We will aim to distribute one or two cards a week in the three weeks leading up to the Sunday, which will work well with the banner of the same style and feel."

 Naremburn Cammeray Anglican Church have kindly shared their plans for the 'Start the Ultimate Relationship' mission week.

Their attractive weekly program is grounds their team members in prayer and God's word. Each day begins with prayer and Bible study followed by a range of practical training.

Our advertising consultant has released the 'Start the ultimate relationship' graphics for the mission.

It's simple, strong, slightly male rather than female skew. And shows relationship with the transcendent.

Concord Anglican have produced a Magazine helping their members get on board the Start the ultimate relationship mission.

This magazine can easily be modified by a printer or graphic designer to display the name of your church. The file is available in Adobe InDesign CD3 format.

The inner west is not big on teenagers, so we are running a little behind the eight ball here.  But we used 'Start the Ultimate Relationship' week to up the anti in our ministry to youth.

Sam reports: On the friday night, Crossfire had its first evangelistic night - "Ultimate Reality". It was part of Annandale Community Church's 'Start the Ultimate Relationship' week, and was a great night.
